PeaceQuest is invites volunteers and partner organizations across Canada to join us in building a strong culture of peace in their communities! While the bulk of our activities are centered in Kingston ON, Victoria BC, and Regina SK, there are ways to be involved wherever you are! Read on for role- and  city-specific information.

Across Canada/Turtle Island

  • Outreach and Distribution

Help us get our educational resources and/or PeaceQuest schools into more classrooms in your town. Guidance and resources provided. Contact Ann Boniferro for more info.

  • Build a Peace Garden/ Peace Pole/ or Peace Labyrinth in your town.

In the lead up to the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI in 2018, help create a space in your neighbourhood to support, contemplate and celebrate peace. Groups who contact us before January 2017 will be invited to participate in joint grant applications to cover the costs of your garden! Contact Judi Wyatt for more info.

  • Personal Stories of Peace Blog

Write to us with your personal experiences of peace and war or interview a member of your community and be featured in our regular guest blog. Mentorship support is available if needed. Contact Jolene for more info.

  • Become a PeaceQuest Partner

If an existing group or community you’re involved in is passionate about peace, skip starting up a new group, and become a PQ Partner! Our partners can gain access to event planning resource and, staff support when teaming up with us on core projects. Contact us to learn more.

  • Start up a PeaceQuest in your town

If you are not already part of a group working for peace, you may want to consider starting a PeaceQuest in your community. To fledgling PQ groups, we offer fundraising resources, a dedicated page on our website, and staff support to help guide you through the process. It’s the least we can do! Contact us if you’re interested.

Of course, anyone interested in working with us can sign-up for our monthly newsletter to get the most up-to-date info and volunteer requests. See our Get Involved page for all available event planning resources to support your work for peace. New resources are being added monthly, so be sure to check back often.

  • Outreach Support

We host fun activities at several events and festivals over the warmer months. Build skills in communication, display, logistics while having a nice afternoon in the park!

  • Event Support

We are always accepting volunteers interested in helping with the set-up, snacks, and take-down of our annual events. This is a super easy and low commitment way to join the team!

  • Communications Chair

This is a great position for a communications or marketing student interested in the non-profit sector. Meet new mentors, make new friends, and gain practical experience while helping to improve and carry out our communications plan. This is an advisory role, meaning that the support staff are actually doing most the work – you just guide the process, make recommendations, and attend monthly meetings. Time commitment: 5 hours monthly for one year.
